CONGERS, N.Y. — A fatal motor vehicle crash occurred Wednesday morning near the intersection of Route 303 and Hemlock Drive, according to the Clarkstown Police Department.
Authorities responded to the scene at approximately 9:20 a.m. and found a Peterbilt dump truck blocking both lanes of Route 303. A heavily damaged white Kia Soul was located off the roadway in a grassy area facing south.
Officers administered life-saving aid, which was continued by the Congers-Valley Cottage Ambulance Corps and Rockland Paramedics. The Kia’s driver, a 42-year-old New Jersey man, was taken to Nyack Montefiore Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. His identity is being withheld pending family notification.
No other injuries were reported. The truck driver remained at the scene and cooperated with authorities.
