CLARKSTOWN, N.Y. — A Spring Valley woman was arrested early Saturday morning for driving while intoxicated on Interstate 87, following a two-vehicle incident that drew state police response.

The New York State Police arrested Alicia Gladys Fox, 29, at approximately 1:46 a.m. on Oct. 18 after responding to a report of a vehicle-related disturbance on the Tarrytown section of the Thruway. The incident, which occurred in the Town of Clarkstown, involved no injuries or fatalities despite two vehicles being involved.

Fox, one of the two drivers involved, was charged with two misdemeanors: driving while intoxicated (VTL 1192.03) and operating a motor vehicle with a blood alcohol content of 0.08% or higher (VTL 1192.02). This is her first offense on both charges.

Second Driver Identified, No Charges Filed

The second driver, identified as Oscar Quizhpe Farias, 45, also of Spring Valley, was involved in the incident but was not arrested or cited in connection with the event. There were no reported injuries or deaths, and no bail was set for Fox, who was issued an appearance ticket.

DWI Enforcement Continues on New York Roads

The arrest underscores the New York State Police’s ongoing enforcement efforts targeting impaired driving. Interstate 87 remains a high-traffic corridor, and law enforcement has increased patrols in areas known for DWI-related incidents.

Fox is scheduled to appear in court to answer the charges. No further details about the court date or potential penalties have been released at this time.
