CLARKSTOWN, N.Y. — State police charged a Bronx man Friday evening with stealing from a Clarkstown business, then resisting arrest.

Kenard H. Merrick, 42, was accused of petit larceny, obstructing governmental administration, and resisting arrest. All charges are misdemeanors.

Troopers stated that Merrick attempted to hinder officers from performing their duties during the arrest. He was given an appearance ticket and released.

Officials remind the public that interfering with law enforcement can result in additional charges.
