SALT LAKE CITY (Sept. 29, 2025) — Tru Fru, LLC has issued a nationwide recall of its popular freeze-dried strawberry products after its third-party manufacturer, Georgia Nut Company, discovered possible metal contamination.
The affected products include Tru Fru Freeze-Dried Strawberries in Dark & White Chocolate, as well as Tru Fru Freeze-Dried Strawberries & Crème. These were sold both online and in major U.S. retailers, including Target, CVS, Kroger, Albertsons, and H-E-B.
No injuries or illnesses have been reported. The recall followed a consumer complaint that prompted an internal investigation. Metal fragments in food can cause serious harm, including lacerations or internal injury.
Consumers are urged to check the 10-digit manufacturing code on the back of the packaging. The first four digits and/or letters determine if a product is part of the recall. Affected items should be discarded immediately.

Tru Fru is working with retailers to remove all recalled units from store shelves. Shoppers who purchased the impacted products can request reimbursement at rqa-inc.com/client/trufru. Customer service is also available at (888) 293-7748 or via email at trufru@rqa-inc.com.
