MIDDLETOWN, N.Y. — Three men have been arrested in connection with a shooting in Middletown that unfolded early Sunday, August 3, according to local police.
The suspects — Woodley Jean, 37, Garry Jean, 38, and Keith Moore, 40 — all residents of Middletown, were taken into custody and charged with criminal possession of a weapon and reckless endangerment. The charges stem from gunfire reported near 126 East Main Street.
Authorities say two illegally possessed firearms were recovered during the course of the investigation. Police executed a series of search warrants over several days, including one at Moore’s residence on North Street on August 11. A second warrant — a no-knock operation — was carried out at a Ruth Court address on August 22, where Woodley and Garry Jean were apprehended. The firearms were found during a search of a vehicle registered to Garry Jean.
The arrests mark a joint effort between multiple law enforcement agencies, including the Orange County Sheriff’s Special Operations Group, the State Police, and the Hudson Valley Crime Analysis Center.
State troopers initially reported the shooting after spotting activity while on patrol in the area. Uniformed officers later assisted with evidence collection at the scene.
All three men have been arraigned and are awaiting future court appearances.
This is a developing story.
