Geico is pausing Cancellation of Policies to all customers

Geico is pausing the Cancellation of Policies to all customers. In a letter sent to all customers:

COVID-19: An important update for our policyholders

Protecting the well-being of our employees, customers, and community has and will always be our top priority. Our team understands the concern and uncertainty caused by coronavirus (COVID-19). We’re here to help. While this situation hasn’t been easy on anyone, we remain committed to fulfilling our promise of serving you.

To better assist those impacted by the crisis, we are pausing cancellation of coverage due to non-payment and policy expiration, effective immediately. This pause will remain in effect through April 30, 2020. The ongoing situation impacts everyone, and we want our policyholders to have some peace of mind knowing we’ll be there when they need us most. We’re also prepared to offer maximum flexibility, including special payment plans to those who need it once normal billing operations are scheduled to resume.

We want you to know we’re working as hard as we can for you, but the reality is this is unprecedented, and you may experience longer than normal hold times.

We strongly encourage you to download the GEICO Mobile app or setup your account on geico.com if you do not already have one. You can access your account 24/7 and:

•           Manage Your Payments – update your automatic payment preferences, change your payment plan, or pay your bills

•           Update Your Policy – make changes to your coverage, drivers, addresses, or vehicles

•           Access Your ID Cards – pull your ID cards up or email them to yourself

Thank you for being part of the GEICO family. We value you and your business and want to continue providing excellent support. We will continue to keep you updated.

Sincerely,
