Chrysler is recalling 91,787 Jeep Grand Cherokee plug-in hybrid vehicles from model years 2022 to 2026 due to a critical software error that can cut drive power, increasing crash risk.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) issued campaign number 25V576000 on Sept. 4, 2025, citing an electrical system defect in the hybrid control processor. If the system fails, drivers could suddenly lose propulsion.
This issue affects only the plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) models. Chrysler has not yet finalized a fix. The company plans to begin notifying owners by mail starting Oct. 23. Until then, concerned drivers can call Chrysler at 800-853-1403 for more information.
Chrysler’s internal reference number for the recall is 73C. Vehicle owners can check NHTSA.gov for recall status using their VINs beginning Sept. 11.
