CORTLANDT, N.Y. — A Peekskill man was charged late Tuesday night with driving while intoxicated following a traffic stop on Maple Avenue, according to New York State Police.
Alec M. Barab, 35, was arrested at 11:55 p.m. on April 8 in the Town of Cortlandt after officers determined he was operating a vehicle with a blood alcohol content of 0.08 percent or higher. The arrest followed a report made to the Cortlandt station roughly 30 minutes earlier.
Barab faces two misdemeanor charges under New York State Vehicle and Traffic Law: DWI (first offense) and operating a motor vehicle with a 0.08 percent BAC or higher. No injuries or fatalities were reported, and only one vehicle was involved.
Barab was issued an appearance ticket and released. The investigation remains open.
