Orangetown police arrested Shephard McClellan, a Nyack man. Charges Including disorderly conduct, resisting arrest, threatening and assault on a police officer.
The 31-year-old McClellan was observed outside of Karma Lounge on Main Street yesterday when he began yelling, cursing and making racial slurs at officers.
While he was detained, McClellan lunged at one of the officers, resulting in a leg injury.
In New York, Assault on a Police Officer is a serious crime, law enforcement considers assaulting a police officer as a particularly egregious offense. McClellan could be charged with a violent felony, Conviction may result in a prison term of a minimum of 2 years and up to life.
