Nursing Home Crack Down

Coronavirus pandemic has hit New York Nursing homes especially hard. More than 3,000 people have died in long term care facilities in New York state. Governor Cuomo says facilities that cannot provide adequate care must transfer patients or call the Department of Health. Nursing homes also must notify residents and their families of positive COVID-19 cases or deaths within 24 hours. Mayor Bill de Blasio says he sent more than 400 clinical volunteers to assist at 40 nursing homes across the city.
