From New York State Parks Recreation & Historic Preservation:
UPDATE: Effective Friday, April 24 and until further notice, the following roads will be CLOSED in Harriman State Park and Bear Mountain State Park:
- Exit 16 off the Palisades Interstate Parkway
- Lake Welch Drive to St. John’s Road
- Tiorati Brook Road
- Rte. 106 from Kanawauke Circle to Rte. 17
- Arden Valley Road (Elk Pen parking lot will be inaccessible)
- Perkins Memorial Drive in Bear Mountain State Park
All trail shelters are closed at this time. You can still pitch your tent within 300 ft of the shelters as per the regular guidelines.
Boat Launches are open for 2020 PIPC boat permit holders. Boat permit sales are suspended through May 7th.
Attention Permit Holders: Tiorati/Welch and Island Pond boat launches are open and can be accessed from Tiorati Circle ONLY. TW and IP orange stickers MUST BE DISPLAYED on your vehicle for entry.
Bear Mountain State Park facilities closures:
- Trailside Museum & Zoo
- Merry-Go-Round
- Gift Shop
- Bear Mountain Inn Restaurant & Cafe
- Bear Mountain Inn Spa
Seven Lakes Drive Remains Open
