Shooting Near West Burda Area in New City

New City, NY – Clarkstown Police are presently investigating a shooting in which a man was shot in the area.

The incident took place around 1:10 p.m., Friday, April 17, in Rockland County near West Burda and Geraldine Place in New City, claimed Clarkstown Police Officer Norman Peters.

According to Clarkstown Police, officers interviewed locals of the area who said they heard many shots being fired outside of their homes as well as what sounded like a vehicle accident.

“We have found one victim, an adult male that drove himself to a location health center where he is being treated for his wounds,” Clarkstown Police said.

It was determined that he received two gunshot wounds, one to the face and one to the back. He has been transported to Westchester Medical Center and his status is serious but stable.

Neither the Identification of the target neither his condition is known right now. The area near Geraldine and West Burda will be closed for some time to enable police to process the crime scene. Moreover, police are looking for the suspect who fled and was said to be in a white sedan

The 2nd vehicle involved, which has not been found, is referred to as a white car.

The Clarkstown Investigative Bureau is exploring the occurrence.
