SPRING VALLEY, NY — Authorities have arrested a New Jersey teenager in connection with a double homicide that unfolded in Spring Valley over the weekend.

On Saturday, February 15, at approximately 8:30 PM, the Spring Valley Police Department responded to a welfare check at 4 Gesner Drive. Upon arrival, officers discovered two female victims inside the apartment, both suffering from severe head injuries. One victim was pronounced dead at the scene, while the second was transported to Westchester Medical Center, where she later succumbed to her injuries.

Less than 24 hours after the tragic discovery, police arrested 19-year-old Alan Aba, also known as Alena Aba, of Westwood, New Jersey. Aba was formally charged with first-degree murder (Penal Law 125.27) and arraigned before Judge Sweet, who ordered the suspect remanded to Rockland County Jail.

Investigators have determined that this was an isolated incident, with the suspect and victims known to one another. Authorities confirmed that no firearms were involved, refuting earlier reports circulating on social media.

The Spring Valley Police Department extended its gratitude to multiple law enforcement agencies that assisted in the investigation, including the Rockland County Sheriff’s Department, Rockland County Computer Crimes Unit, Rockland County B.C.I., Suffern Police Department, Haverstraw Police Department, New York State Police, Putnam County Sheriff’s Department, Rockland County District Attorney’s Office, Spring Hill Ambulance Corps, and Rockland Paramedics.

While an arrest has been made, the investigation remains active. Authorities urge anyone with relevant information to contact the Spring Valley Police Department at (845) 356-7400 or via email at Tips@VillageSpringValley.org.
