Hospitals are overwhelmed. Well, but imagine the city medical examiner’s office. Completely overwhelmed, there are temporary morgues around the city but at the headquarters of the medical examiner’s office and over the last hour and a half or so we’ve been watching this vehicle move out of the way so transport vans can go in and out of the offices here.

An additional 3,700 deaths have been deemed probable COVID-19 deaths, which raises the total citywide death toll. Despite this grim news, the Governors of the region are trying to figure out how and when to open the economy.

Governor Cuomo‘s New York on pause order will continue through the end of April. He says he is working with his counterparts to try and figure out when things can get back to business. President Trump has said some states could be ready before May 1st saying that he will be speaking with all 50 governors about their reentry plans for many getting back to normalcy.

These plans largely depend on antibody testing to identify if you will have the immunity against COVID-19. A pinprick blood test that was done in Franklin Square on Long Island yesterday people we talked with who took the test are hoping they can go back to work sooner rather than later. A person there said, “let’s take a listen I make sure that I’m OK, so I don’t have to uh affect anybody else.” New York is now part of a coalition of northeast states planning a careful reentry process. At the same time, the very same thing is happening on the West coast as well.
